Why do we recommend reading the 1830 edition?

Since brother Joseph’s martyrdom, several revisions have been made, including breaking up the books into different chapters and verses. We believe that we obtain a different and valuable perspective when we read the record in this original format, as it was designed. Joseph did publish two other editions while he was alive (the 1837 and the 1840 editions) that he himself revised. They are also very meaningful to study!
